Collection of useful AppleScripts for Mail and Address Book
One of the great things about Apple Mail and Address Book are the hundreds of scripts you can use to customize and modify them.
Obviously, however, this requires a certain amount of script-writing knowledge, which most of us don't have. Mail Scripts provides a simple solution via a series of scripts that you can use to change and modify both apps. It contains scripts that help with everything from archiving of old messages to the scheduled sending of new messages.
One of the more handy scripts allows you to add new fields to Address Book, including the 'From', 'To', 'Cc' and 'Bcc', which makes it easier to create mail lists. In addition, there are scripts for moving from one SMTP server top another, creating messages from selected text, and the scheduling of sending messages using iCal. Other handy scripts include one that searches for duplicate mails, filters sent messages and exporting contacts from Mail.
You're sure to find at least one useful script for either Mail or Address Book in Mail Scripts and even some that you may think should come as standard with both apps.
Changes
(Schedule Delivery): fix issue where the script would launch into its UI rather than sending the message at the scheduled time. (Archive Messages): update the included Perl modules and re-compile them as universal binaries in order for the script to run when Rosetta is not available (e.g., MacOS X 10.7 "Lion"). Update all website references to go to the new website URL.
